Barca enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Real Valladolid at the Nou Camp on Monday. Barca were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning their previous two matches against Real Sociedad away and Huesca at home, by 6-1 and 4-1 respectively. Valladolid are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As it stands, Barca and Valladolid currently occupy 2nd and 16th spots in the league, with 65 points and 27 points respectively after 29 matches.
After an un-eventful first half, Barca applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Ousmane Dembele just before the final whistle. They managed to see the game out with a clean sheet and a final score of 1-0.
For Barca, Ronald Araujo, Trincao, Martin Braithwaite, Moriba Ilaix and Riqui Puig, came on for Oscar Mingueza, Antoine Griezmann, Sergio Busquets, Pedri and Sergino Dest. Valladolid replaced Saidy Janko, Sergi Guardiola and Kenan Kodro for Pablo Hervias, Marcos De Sousa and Waldo Rubio.
The referee booked Antoine Griezmann, Oscar Mingueza and Martin Braithwaite from Barca. Valladolid had the worst of it though, with Bruno Gonzalez, Sergi Guardiola and Jordi Masip seeing yellow, and Oscar Plano then sent off with a red.
Barca will next travel to Real Madrid, while Valladolid will face Granada at home.
