As part of the 30th anniversary of the National Olympic Committee, Olympic champions visited the regions of the country and met with youth within the framework of the “Olympic Odyssey of Azerbaijan” project.
During these meetings our Olympic champions had the opportunity to communicate directly with teenagers and youth and promoted their sports. Meetings aimed at arrangement the healthy integration of children, teenagers and young people into society also served to promote Olympic principles and values in Azerbaijan.
Within the framework of the “Olympic Odyssey of Azerbaijan” project, screenings of films dedicated to the Olympic champions were organized in Gadabey, Mingachevir, Lankaran, Barda, Oguz and Sumgayit. These films, prepared by the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, gave young people the opportunity to get to know the Olympic champions more closely and to learn about the Olympic history of Azerbaijan.
Documentary films “The warrior” dedicated to Farid Mansurov, “Ertoghrul” to Togrul Askerov, “First gold” to Nazim Huseynov, “Golden Sydney” to Namig Abdullayev and “Golden Sydney” dedicated to Zemfira Meftakhetdinova were shown in the framework of the project.
After viewing each film, the Olympic champions answered the questions of the meeting participants.
The project, which took place in the regions of Azerbaijan, was jointly organized by the NOC, the National Olympic Academy and the Public Union of Sports Volunteers of Azerbaijan.
