Membership of the Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation (VMMAF) to IMMAF was approved by the IMMAF board on Wednesday 20 April.

Headed by President NGO Duc Quynh, the national federation is recognised by its Ministry of Home Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. It is currently formed of five MMA clubs: MMA Saigon CluB, MMA Vietnam Fight CluB, MMA Fighter Club, Vietnam Top Team and Nhatrang Sport Unite.

The affiliation was facilitated by William Hoong, who has been appointed as IMMAF’s Development Officer in East Asia. His remit will be to promote and establish MMA in the region.

IMMAF President Kerrith Brown said:

“We are pleased to welcome the Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation as part of our renewed focus in East Asia. I am grateful to William Hoong for enabling this affiliation and confident in his ability to develop IMMAF’s footprint in the region and progress the sport development and good governance of MMA there.”
