This is the first time that an American city has hosted the Para-cycling Road World Championships since 1998, and we're expecting hundreds of athletes from all over the world to be here!
The five-day event will feature individual time trial and road race disciplines for men, women and teams. Male and female athletes will compete in categorized events using bicycles adapted to their abilities (traditional or adapted bicycles; tandems; tricycles or hand-cycles) and will compete in categories related to defined disabilities, such as:
amputation/limb loss
blindness/visual impairment
spinal cord injury/wheelchair-users
cerebral palsy/brain injury/stroke
If you would like to cover the event, and have not done so, please submit a request for media credentials. Also, you may view the schedule of events and hotel information for Greenville. If approved, individuals who submit their credential requests by Tuesday, August 12 will be issued personalized credentials.
We hope to see you in Greenville next month for the 2014 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championship!
