Quantum Consultancy, the data-driven sport and entertainment agency, has been appointed by the International World Games Association (IWGA) to conduct a comprehensive event evaluation for The World Games 2022 taking place in Birmingham, USA from 7-17 July 2022.

The IWGA has commissioned the wide-ranging evaluation in collaboration with the Birmingham Organising Committee (BOC) of The World Games 2022, Alabama, USA.

Quantum will consult with stakeholders of the IWGA family, including international sports federations, national olympic committees and operational staff to assess the impact of the event across economic, social and sustainability parameters.

IWGA CEO Joachim Gossow commented: "Our goal is to continuously develop The World Games. We want to become better for our athletes, for our stakeholders and of course we want to be able to offer an attractive and unique multi-sport event to future host cities. The prerequisite for this is an intensive evaluation of the last event. We are convinced that in Quantum we have found a partner who can provide us with the necessary data and also interpret these facts and figures together with us. Our partners in Birmingham will receive all the necessary information to enable them to check whether they have achieved their goals. At the same time, such a study is a legacy for future events in the city. We are sure too that our upcoming host for The World Games 2025, Chengdu in China, will benefit from the findings of this evaluation and what can be learnt from them."

Quantum Co-Founder and Director of Consulting, Colin Stewart, said: "The World Games 2022 will be one of the first multi-sport events for which the return of full capacity venues are anticipated. This makes it all the more important to be evaluating event impacts as well as understanding the views and experiences of different stakeholder groups attending the event. We are delighted to be supporting the IWGA and BOC by implementing our event evaluation and monitoring processes."

Following the evaluation, a list of recommendations is to be compiled to support the future direction of the IWGA and its member federations. Future hosts of The World Games will benefit from these insights and recommendations to support their own planning and delivery of the event
