(ATR) The World Stadium Congress returns in 2018 for the seventh edition in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The 2018 edition will take place at the Amsterdam ArenA from May 7-9. Here, leaders in the sport infrastructure, tournament delivery, stadium and arena design and recreational facilities industries will gather to determine the future of sports infrastructure.

The 2017 edition in Doha, Qatar welcomed more than 400 delegates and 35 sponsor exhibitions. The goal of the congress is to showcase the latest innovations in stadium construction, event security and venue technology, according to organizers.

In 2018, the congress seeks to have more interaction with delegates, fan engagement sessions and more participation from organizing committees, stadium operators and International Federations.

A preview of the agenda for the conference in May is available for download here.

The SPOT Conference Aims to Change the Game

The SPOT conference, a product of ThinkSport, will take place at the Swiss Tech Convention Center and will focus on the themes of connected sport, new sport, performance and health as well as media and marketing.

Organizers hope to create an atmosphere at the inaugural The SPOT unlike other sport conferences throughout the year.

"Bringing together the brightest minds and freshest innovations inside and outside of the industry, The SPOT will be anything but your ordinary conference," ThinkSport said in a statement.

Features of the new conference will include: a Marketplace and Demo Zone to discover products and solutions; networking opportunities; and an un-traditional conference and workshop format.

New technologies, data analytics, new trends in sport, the rise of esport, digital security, health and nutrition are some of the many topics that will be featured throughout the three-day program.

Registration for the event is already open, with early bird rates applying until Feb. 15, 2018.

The inaugural edition of The SPOT conference will take place May 15-16 in the Olympic capital of Lausanne.
