(ATR) Leaders of the USOC, USA Paralympics, National Governing Bodies and athletes all came together in Colorado Springs for the annual USOC Olympic Assembly.
The assembly was opened by USOC chief executive officer Scott Blackmun who thanked Los Angeles for stepping in as the candidate to bid for the 2024 Olympics after Boston dropped out.
USOC chairman Larry Probst spoke about the position of the USOC within the international sporting world, including the increased presence of American sporting executives at the top of International Federations.
Los Angeles 2024 bid leader Casey Wasserman explained why he thinks Los Angeles is the perfect candidate city to fit in with the Olympic Agenda 2020 reforms instituted by the IOC this year.
An evening reception was held at the Garden of the Gods Club overlooking the Rocky Mountains.
