(ATR) The International Olympic Committee believes it has more stability than ever with a line-up of Olympic and Paralympic host cities through 2028.
Presentations from the Organizing Committees of PyeongChang 2018, Tokyo 2020, Beijing 2022, Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028 were the primary focus of the second and final day of the 2017 Association of National Olympic Committees General Assembly in Prague, Czech Republic.
Reports and updates from other Olympic stakeholders such as the World Olympians Association, Olympic Channel and ANOC Athletes' Commission were also featured on Nov. 3 in the Hilton Prague Congress Hall.
The largest-ever gathering of the ANOC assembly - featuring more than 1,300 delegates - were given detailed reports primarily about venue clusters and Games plans from the OCOGs of the next 11 years, including those from the Youth Olympic Games organizers of Buenos Aires 2018 and Lausanne 2020.
The only year missing from the host-city slate is the 2026 Winter Olympics which recently began the new informational phase where the IOC will seek to be more engaged with interested cities before official bids are submitted. The bid race for 2026 will begin next October.
The ANOC General Assembly closed with a final press conference with ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg, ANOC Vice President for Oceania Robin Mitchell and Czech Olympic Committee representatives President Jiri Kejval and Vice President Roman Kumpost.
