Tuesday Talk with Don Porter
This week’s Tuesday Talk is with International Softball Federation president Don Porter.
The interview comes as he awaits word from the IOC as to whether a plan to team up with baseball to get back on the Olympic program in time for 2020 can move forward.
Though such a joint proposal is without precedent, Porter has high hopes. Check back Tuesday to learn why.

The USOC's newly renovated Team USA shop is back in business at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Tuesday’s reopening is timed to coincide with the second annual Warrior Games taking place this week at the training center. Competition ends Sunday, but the store is there to stay.
London Torch Relay Route Unveiled
The Olympic Torch relay route will take shape this week when London 2012 announces its first confirmed stops on Wednesday morning, the one-year-to-go mark until the relay begins.
LOCOG chair Sebastian Coe will then join executives from Coca-Coca, Samsung and Lloyds TSB for a press conference and photo call.
All three are presenting partners of the torch relay. Coke and Samsung are also TOP sponsors of the IOC.
Also Wednesday, LOCOG will launch its public nomination program to find the 8,000 torchbearers needed to crisscross the U.K. during the run-up to next year’s Games.
Bidding Subtext to Madrid Elections
The people of Madrid will have a say in their city's Olympic future as they head to the polls Sunday for municipal elections.
Alberto Ruiz-Gallardon, the incumbent, was an active proponent of Madrid's unsuccessful 2012 and 2016 bids.
Current sports minister Jaime Lissavetsky, one of the other leading candidates, was a member of the 2016 bid team.
Whatever the outcome of Sunday's election, a decision to bid will likely hinge on the IOC's decision for the 2018 host city. If either Munich or Annecy, France wins the Winter Olympics, Madrid would likely pass on the 2020 Games due to geopolitical considerations.
