Two New Directors for IOC

The IOC has appointed Lana Haddad as its new chief financial officer, and Lindsay Glassco as its director of international cooperation.

The IOC says its new CFO, a British and Iraqi national, joins from Procter & Gamble International. Haddad’s 19 years of experience with Olympic sponsor P&G contributes to her "expertise in financial planning, audit, compliance, and treasury management."

She will begin her work at the IOC in March of 2014.

Glassco is currently the president and chief executive officer of Special Olympics Canada. The IOC says that prior to joining Special Olympics, Glassco was the global director for the non-governmental organization Right to Play.

She will take over in January for current director of international cooperation Tomas Sithole, who retires at the end of the year.

Last week, the IOC appointed Kit McConnell as its new sports director. McConnell, who will succeed Christophe Dubi, is currently head of the Rugby World Cup and RWC Tournament Director.

The IOC says its latest appointments are an indication of its "commitment to add to the diversity of the organization."
