(ATR) The IOC meets with Tokyo 2020, Oct. 13-14, for a review of progress on the 2020 Olympic Games.
This marks the fourth project review meeting between the IOC and Tokyo 2020. John Coates, chair of the IOC Coordination Commission for Tokyo 2020, will lead the meeting.
The project review meetings serve as interim updates on Tokyo 2020 for the IOC in between official coordination commission visits.
Last month, Tokyo 2020 proposed 18 additional events in five sports for inclusion at the Olympics.
Baseball/softball, karate, skateboard, sports climbing and surfing were chosen to represent "both traditional and emerging, youth-focused events."
The additional events are the biggest ever for an Olympics of the recent era. The 18 events would result in an extra 474 athletes taking part in the Tokyo Games, joining the program of 28 sports.
WorldBoxingChampionships
The 2015 World AmateurBoxingChampionships are underway in Doha.
The International Boxing Association (AIBA) opened the championships at the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena in the Qatari capital on Oct. 5.
Organizers say 260 boxers are competing at this year's championships.
Beyond vying for a world champion title, boxers will be competing for 23 Olympic quota places for the 2016 Summer Games.Competition ends on Oct. 18.

SPORTEL Monaco
The 2015 edition of SPORTEL opens on Oct. 12 for sports media industry leaders from across the world.
The convention gives attendees opportunities forface-to-face meetings with key decision-makers in the industry and provides a platform for the sharing of best sports media practices.
SPORTEL Monaco concludes on Oct. 15.
Judo Grand Slam
The International Judo Federation kicks off the 2015 Judo Grand Slam in Paris on Oct. 17.
Competition ends on Oct. 18.
TAFISA World Congress
The Association For International Sport for All is opening its24th World Congress in Budapest on Oct. 14.
The meeting will conclude in the Hungarian capital on Oct. 18.
