SuperFan Report: Craziest Olympic Souvenirs of PyeongChang 2018

(ATR) I like to collect the craziest item from each Olympics and today’s Olympic Superstore adventure takes us in search of the best "why in the world did they make this?" It was challenging to find that one wacky item in PyeongChang -- but the search was well worth the effort.

There were lots of delightful souvenirs - everything from Olympic torch pens that illuminate, to crystal versions just to look at. There were even golden replicas of the opening and closing stadium that came outfitted with LEDs that lit up. And then there was the old standby -Olympic pins.

From the Korean side, there were wooden or metal chopsticks with acrylic decorated handles.And we cannot forget the most expensive item – the heritage collection of moon jars for a mere 1,750,000 KRW or $1616.00 USD.

Here's my countdown of the quirkiest souvenirs on the shelves:

5. Lots of Olympic branded Korean food– From Dried Seaweed with Tomato to Jeongseon Nutritious Cirsium Setidens Tok, it’s a first for Olympic food sold in a superstore!

4. Soohorang and Bandabi mascot dolls dressed in traditional Korean outfits - super cute and cuddly.

3. Chopstick and spoon sets -nothing says Korea more than this. Perfect for yournextKorean BBQ.

2. Plush toy Curling Stone and Hockey Stick tied for 2nd, although personally I like the curling stone replica best. Not sure many people know what it is at first glance…unless you are Canadian!

And the Winner is…

1. PyeongChang Olympic Souvenir Store made of Lego-like bricks helps children recreate precious moments from the Games in their very own Olympic pop-up store. I can hear them now– "We only take Visa." There is also a Pop-Up Truck version. It reflects today's version of concept store marketing and could make the perfect souvenir for a budding entrepreneur.
