SportAccord Reveals Opening Ceremony Details -- Conferences and Conventions

(ATR) SportAccord reveals the opening ceremony of the 2017 convention will be an evening filled with culture, music and performing arts.

The event will take place at the largest concert hall in Scandinavia at the Musikhuset, with Danish Broadcasting Corporation TV presenter Ulla Essendrop serving as master of ceremonies.

Guests will have the pleasure of hearing speeches from SportAccord president Francesco Ricci Bitti, IOC president Thomas Bach as well as Aarhus mayor Jacob Bundsgaard during the ceremony.

The conference expects more than 1,000 organizations and 92 international sports federations to attend.

Plenary sessions held on the first two days of the conference will be featured under a program entitled ‘Innovation in Action’.

Day one of the session will start with a keynote address on organization relevancy which will lead into open discussions on building sport support, sports innovations and more.

On day two, Tokyo 2020 will host a presentation on expectations for the next Summer Games. Following the presentation, panel discussions will be held on the latest in technology in sport including social media and virtual reality.

Beyond the plenary sessions, delegates will have the opportunity to attend exhibition sessions featuring organizations such as the International Center for Sports Studies and Dubai Sports Council along with numerous workshops.

SportsBusiness Group, SportCal, Yutang Sports, Edmonton Events, EventScotland and the Canadian Sports Tourism Alliance have also all been named as partners of the event.

Expert Kinesiologist to Speak at VISTA 2017

Professor and expert kinesiologist Laura Misener has been announced as one of many keynote speakers at the VISTA 2017 conference.

Misener intends to share her knowledge on the impact the Paralympics has on promoting opportunities for sport participation. and also to raise awareness on how disability in sport is represented.

"The aim of my talk is to move our conversation beyond the barriers to participation and consider how we can negotiate constraints in social and infrastructural context to improve opportunities, spaces, and places for participation," Misener says in a statement.

Misener would like participants to leave her class "recognizing the importance of interdisciplinary research on disability sport".

The three-day conference held in Toronto, Canada intends to bring 300 of the world's leading sports scientists to discuss topics under the theme "Opportunities and Challenges in Paralympic Sport Science and Sport Medicine Support."

The event will feature an Interactive Learning and Scientific Celebration where the winner of the IPC Paralympic Scientific Award will be announced.

Think Sport to Host Sport Future Rendez-Vous 2017

The Sport Future Rendez-Vous conference hosted by Think Sport will be held in Lausanne, Swizterland beginning May 9.

This year's edition will focus on "Sport and the Digital Revolution" and "Sport Integrity" over two days.

Speakers include Fédération Aéronautique Internationale general secretary Suzanne Schödel, World Lottery Association president Jean-Luc Moner-Banet andInfront Sports & Media executive director of digital, production and sport solutionsClaude Ruibal.

Participants of the conference will have the opportunity to engage in "new insights and lively debates" according to Think Sport. The event will feature 22 sports experts hosting a total of five speaker sessions each day.

Key Marketing and Sponsorship Leaders Featured at IEG Conference

The world's largest sponsorship and partnership marketing conference is heading to Chicago on Mar. 26.

The IEG conference will be celebrating its 34th year encouraging delegates to "redefine boundaries and discover additional growth".

The conference will be opened by IEG and ESP Properties Senior Vice President Jim Andrewsand followed by panels and presentations covering topics such as partnership sales, strategies, activation and results along with digital content, media, data and engagement.
