SportAccord Releases LawAccord Program Details -- Conferences and Conventions

(ATR) The one day LawAccord program will be held in conjunction with SportAccord Convention once again next year.

The program will be led by LawAccord Chair Stephen Townlet and International Council of Arbitration for Sport (ICAS) president Michael Lenard.

"Here at SportAccord Convention, we have all the international federations present and they are an important stakeholder, like the NOCs, like the IOC, and like the athletes. So for us, it’s a prime moment to have conversations with them and provide education to them," Townlet said in a statement.

Townlet goes on to describe the LawAccord program as something sport stakeholders, cities and legal teams would not want to miss.

During LawAccord, delegates will also hear the latest updates from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

Additionally, topics including analyzing host city agreements, challenges with hosting major events, anti-corruption regimes and anti-doping programs will be discussed in sessions held throughout the day.

SportAccord Convention's 16th edition is set to take place from April 15-20, 2018 in Bangkok.

Sportel Conference Returns to Monaco

The Sportel Conference will be making its annual stop in Monaco beginning Oct. 23, where organizers expect hundreds of business leaders in attendance.

"It is a great satisfaction to experience an event like Sportel, with almost 30 years existence, which continues to grow year after year," Sportel Monaco Mediax CEO Laurent Puons said in a statement.

"It is truly phenomenal to see how important Sportel conventions are to the industry and a privilege to us that the world leading sports entities trust us with their business. Three months away from the Convention, 86% of the exhibition space has already been booked for 2017."

FIFA, NBC Universal and more are already confirmed exhibitors of the event.

The conference will offer a daily networking breakfast along with numerous panels discussions for delegates to attend.Details on the full list of panels and program for Sportel Monaco are soon to be announced.

The Sportel Awards will once again take place during the convention this year.During the ceremony the best international sports videos and illustrated books will be rewarded. The awards ceremony will be held at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco on Oct. 24.

Sportel Monaco will conclude on Oct. 26.

SIGA Sport Integrity Forum Tackles Sport Scandals

The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) Forum held in Lisbon, Portugal will be addressing the latest ingovernance and integrity issues facing the sports industry.

"Following our first ever Forum earlier this year, it is clear that urgent reform and collaboration is needed more than ever to tackle the serious governance and integrity issues facing sport," the SIGA council said in a statement.

"There is a huge amount of work to be done. And it is for this very reason that we are again bringing together high-profile, leading experts to collaborate and share intelligence, new innovations and solutions to benefit the entire global sports movement."

Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees president Brian Lewis, International Mixed Martial Arts Federation CEO Densign White and eSports Integrity Coalition commissioner Ian Smith are among the 11 key leaders speaking at the Forum.

Topics including governance in sport, financial integrity, sports betting, youth development and more will also be discussed at the event.

The Forum will take place on July 26.
