(ATR)SportAccord is hosting the eighth edition of the annual IF Forum in Lausanne, Nov. 3-5.

Representatives from international federations will gather at this year's forum todiscuss important current issues and share ideas about best management practices, through a series of workshops, case studies and discussion groups.

Key speakers on the agenda include IOC president Thomas Bach, SportAccord president Marius Vizer, Olympian Nadia Comaneci and Michael Peters, CEO of EuroNews.

Around the Rings editor Ed Hula and ATR publisher Sheila Hula are attending the 2014 IF Forum in Lausanne.

ANOCGeneral Assembly

The Association of National Olympic Committees is hosting its annual General Assembly Nov. 6-8 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Nine commissions and working groups, ratified by the ANOC Executive Council in 2013,will present their progress during the General Assembly. TheANOC's Modernization Commission originally recommended the formation of these commissions/working groups in June 2013.

ATR European correspondent Brian Pinelli and ATR reporter Aaron Bauer will be on the scene in Bangkok to cover the ANOC General Assembly.

IWF World Championships

The 2014 World Weightlifting Championships take place Nov. 4-16 inAlmaty, Kazakhstan.

The event will double as a qualifier for the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Olympian Kim Yu-Na Appointed 2018 Promotional Ambassador

On Nov. 4, Olympic figure skaterYu-NaKim will officially become a promotional ambassador for the 2018 Winter Olympics during a ceremony in Seoul.

PyeongChang 2018 has also announced the Olympian will appear in a promotional video for the Games on Tuesday.

Smart Cities and Sport Summit

The World Union of Olympic Cities launches its newest initiative--the "Smart Cities and Sport Summit"in Lausanne, Nov. 5-7.

David Simon, the organization's vice president, tells ATRthe summit is organized for governments interested in either hosting an Olympic Games or developing a healthy, active lifestyle among its citizens.

Simon, who is president of the Los Angeles Sports Council, also told ATRthe summit provides the opportunity for representatives of cities to interact with IOC members and leaders of international federations.

Trampoline and Tumbling World Championships

The International Gymnastics Federation is staging the 2014 Trampoline and Tumbling World Championships Nov. 7-9 in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The Trampoline and Tumbling World Championships will gather elite athletes from around the world, including 17 gymnasts representing the United States.

2014 ISAF Annual Conference

The International Sailing Federation is hosting its annual conference this year in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

The agenda for the conference includes discussions on racing rules, international regulations, a meeting of an Olympic classes sub-committee and a coaches commission.

The conference ends Nov. 8.
