(ATR) AliExpress, a global retail online marketplace of Alibaba Group, activates its Olympic Games partnership at the Lausanne 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games as part of the Alibaba Group’s long-term agreement with the IOC.

AliExpress has rolled out a dedicated website during the Games, spotlighting thousands of winter sports products as it seeks to spark fan engagement for Lausanne 2020.

With consumers in more than 200 countries and regions, AliExpress strives to further its reach in the Olympic Movement and help Olympic stakeholders engage with fans worldwide.

"As Alibaba celebrates the three-year anniversary of our partnership with the IOC, we continue to leverage the entire Alibaba ecosystem to help transform the Games for the digital era," said Chris Tung, Alibaba Group’s chief marketing officer.

"As a key part of Alibaba’s globalization strategy, AliExpress will broaden the reach of our worldwide partnership with the IOC to delight fans around the world," he said.

IOC Television and Marketing Services managing director Timo Lumme says that the Alibaba Group and IOC share similar values and aspirations for the future of the partnership.

"We are very pleased that Alibaba is engaging with our Youth Olympic fans through a dedicated AliExpress platform," Lumme said. "Lausanne 2020 marks three years of Olympic partnership with Alibaba to promote our values and engage with fans, and we look forward to the new opportunities Alibaba is bringing to consumers and fans around the world."

In January 2017, Alibaba Group and the IOC announced a long-term sponsorship through 2028 as an Olympic Top Partner.

British Airways Partners With Team GB, ParalympicsGB

British Airways will be flying hundreds of British athletes and support team members to and from Tokyo this summer as the official airline partner of Team GB and ParalympicsGB.

Athletes from a range of sports were at London Heathrow airport on Tuesday for the official launch, including skateboarder Sky Brown. The 11-year-old is set to be Great Britain’s youngest summer Olympian.

British Airways has been supporting British Olympic and Paralympic athletes since the Beijing 2008 Games.

"We’re so proud to be the official airline of Team GB and ParalympicsGB for the fourth consecutive [Summer] Games," Carolina Martinoli, British Airways’ Director of Brand and Customer Experience, said in a statement.

"The Olympic and Paralympics Games always instill a sense of national pride and it’s an honor to fly the best of British talent in sport and be part of their journey – from start to finish."

British Olympic Association CEO, Andy Anson, added "British Airways is one of the most recognizable and prestigious brands in the world, so it is with great pride that we partner with them for the fourth consecutive Games.

"Tokyo 2020 promises to be an incredible event and securing a partnership of this caliber can only assist with our preparations ahead of the Games in July."
