(ATR) Long time Olympic TOP sponsor Omega debuts a new advertisement campaign a week before the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic begin in South Korea.
The campaign, known as "Recording Olympic Dreams" features a 30-second television ad with U.S. Olympic gold medalist Shaun White as one of the primary athletes. The commercial is set to music by Harry Styles and shows Olympic athletes during their moments of victory at the Games.
White is joined in the commercial by alpine skier Dider Défago and Justine freestyle skier Dufour-Lapointe, among others.
"There are many ways to express victory. Only one becomes official," Omega says in the commercial, referencing its long history of official time and score keeping at the Olympics.
A TOP sponsor since 1992, Omega will air its new broadcast and digital campaign throughout the entirety of the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.
White is also featured in a new Olympics promotional video on the NBC network, host broadcaster in the United States for PyeongChang 2018.
Intel Invites Fans to (Virtually) Visit PyeongChang
New Olympic TOP sponsor Intel will put its ‘True VR’ technology to the test during the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics.
The company will collaborate with Olympics Broadcasting Services to record a record 30 Olympic events during the 17-day sports festival.
Using a virtual reality headset with the NBC Sports VR mobile app, spectators will be able to choose their own viewing points at various Olympic venues and receive a fully immersive telecast for live and on-demand events. Real-time stats and leaderboards will also be accessible through the virtual reality app.
Certain athletes sponsored by Intel will also give behind-the-scenes insight into what it’s like to prepare for and compete in the Winter Olympics.
Intel is teaming up with fellow TOP sponsor Samsung to provide media outlets such as Around the Rings with a Virtual Reality kit that includes a Samsung Gear VR headset and Galaxy S7 smartphone to access the NBC Sports VR application.
Those using the application will be able to experience the Opening Ceremonies live on Feb. 9 and other events including Figure Skating, Men’s Downhill, Mixed Curling, Men’s Snowboard Halfpipe, among others.
Coca-Cola Sends Olympic Swag
The longest continuous TOP sponsor of the Olympics is preparing for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics in a similar fashion to previous Games.
Coca-Cola, the non-alcoholic beverage company that has supported every Olympics since 1928, sent out commemorative PyeongChang promotional items to media outlets a week before the Games begin.
The care package sent to ATR includes a commemorative six-pack, winter fleeces, long sleeve shirts, coasters, a flash drive, a bottle opener and a fine cotton blanket.
Coca-Cola’s presence is also visible in South Korea as the Games rapidly near.
As ATR traveled by high speed train from Seoul to JInbu, the stop nearest the town of PyeongChang, the Coca-Cola logo was ever present in the stations.
