L’heure est grave pour le mouvement sportif français. Déjà sonné par le confinement, puis abattu par le report des Jeux de Tokyo, il a encaissé les dernières mesures sanitaires prises par les autorités politiques comme un nouveau coup dur. Son secteur amateur souffre. Ses clubs voient leurs licenciés s’éparpiller dans le vent. Et la perspective d’un nouveau durcissement des règles de lutte contre la pandémie, avec un possible reconfinement, lui fait craindre le pire.

Preuve de son découragement, le comité olympique français (CNOSF) a rameuté toutes ses troupes pour en appeler au plus haut sommet de l’Etat. Aucune n’a fait faux bond. Le résultat : une lettre ouverte à Emmanuel Macron, le président de la République (photo ci-dessus, avec Denis Masseglia, le président du CNOSF). Elle est co-signée par 95 fédérations sportives. Son titre en dit long sur l’ambiance générale : « SOS : Sport en détresse ».
