Around the RingsEuropean correspondent Brian Pinelli was in attendance and spoke with me about his time in Rome in this edition of ATRadio. He said Rome played to its strengths and added, "The ceremony was all about the entertainment value, the show, and the pageantry."

Over 2,500 Rome school children, Olympic athletes, and leaders from CONI and Rome 2024 were present as the design was seen for the first time on a jumbo screen at the Palazzetto Dello Sport Arena.

Rome is vying against Budapest, Los Angeles, and Paris to host the 2024 Games. The IOC will select the host city in Lima, Peru in September 2017.
