IOC members are descending on Sochi for the 126th Session that starts Tuesday.

Singapore’s Ser Miang Ng told Around the Rings he arrived last night and was looking forward to checking out the mountain venues ahead of the Session; the opening ceremony is tomorrow evening.

Former IOC president Jacques Rogge was spotted having breakfast with his wife Anne at the Radisson Blu hotel on the Olympic Park.

Leaders of the summer and winter Olympic international federations are also attending in an observer capacity.

Nenad Lalovic, president of FILA, the international wrestling federation, and former softball president Don Porter are among those who have already checked into the Olympic Family hotel.

First Case for CAS in Sochi

The Court of Arbitration for Sport is dealing with its first case a few days after opening an office in the Black Sea resort.

Austrian skier Daniela Bauer (women’s ski halfpipe) is appealing against her non-selection for her country’s Olympic team.

Bauer claims she has met the FIS qualification requirements and that a quota place was available for her.

CAS is set to announce its decision on Tuesday.

Media Center for Unaccredited Journalists

RIA-Novosti today opened a 24-hour media center for journalists without accreditation to cover the Games.

The center for unaccredited journalists has 288 work places, three conference halls, and meeting rooms with all the information and technological services necessary to provide up-to-the-minute coverage of the Games at all hours of the day.

According to RIA-Novosti, all Olympic events will be broadcast at the center. A mobile application for the Sochi Media Center’s site and an SMS-service for journalists will be launched as soon as the center opens.
