(ATR) Rio 2016 president Carlos Nuzman tells Around the Ringsthe main function of test events is to see what could go wrong with an event.
"To have a test event without an issue, I think, is dangerous because it could happen during the Games," Nuzman tells ATR.
A few test events have been completed now that the Olympics are less than one year away. Athletes in rowing, equestrian, sailing and cycling are getting firsthand experience with the venues they could be competing at one year from now.
ATR was on the scene for the test events and caught up with Nuzman following the rowing test event. Nuzman says the events have gone very well with no apparent issues.
