(ATR) Over 600,000 spectators came out for the 2015 Road Cycling World Championships, which closed in Richmond, Virginia on Sept. 27.
Overall, around 1,000 athletes competed at this year's championships.
Viewers in 150 countries watched the event on TV.More than 40 TV partners, including 17 TV networks, were broadcasting live from Richmond during the road worlds.
In the backdrop of the event, the International Cycling Union held its congress at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. UCI president Brian Cookson spoke with Around the Rings about the congress and said a presentation from Rio 2016 inspired confidence in preparations for next year's Olympics.
