PYEONGCHANG, South Korea--The PyeongChang 2018 Legacy Foundation held PyeongChang Peace Forum 2020 (PPF 2020) at PyeongChang Alpensia Convention Center in Gangwon Province from Feb. 9 to 11, and its participants agreed on the ‘Peace Resolution for Building Permanent Peace Regime on the Korean Peninsula.’

Participants of the forum Peace agreed and declared the ‘Peace Resolution for Building Permanent Peace Regime on the Korean Peninsula,’ which includes urging Republic of Korea and Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and countries involved to declare an end to the Korean War and sign the peace treaty.

PyeongChang Peace Forum is a global forum led by peace creators and peace builders involved in sports and sustainable development. Its 2020 edition was proceeded under the slogan of "Peace! Here and Now."

"Action: End the Korean War" was the topic of the forum which was reviewed and discussed to come up with concrete action plans for peace. It had four main themes: Sports, Economy, DMZ Peace Zone, and UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). Among major speakers were 8th UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, former Norwegian Prime Minister and former Director-General of the World Health Organization Gro Harlem Brundtland, IOC Member Gunilla Lindberg, and an investment expert and author Jim Rogers.

"The PyeongChang 2018 offered the world an unforgettable moment by showing inter-Korean harmony. The legacy foundation will continuously deliver the message of peace to the world until it becomes reality," said RYU Seung-min, IOC Member and Chairman of the PyeongChang 2018 Legacy Foundation.
