(ATR) Alongside IOC president Thomas Bach, Prince Albert II of Monaco will be the speaker to officially begin the inaugural World Olympians Forum this October.
"It will be a great pleasure to officially open the inaugural World Olympians Forum. I’m looking forward to gathering with my colleagues from the Olympic Family to discuss and debate the key issues concerning Olympians," Prince Albert II said.
The forum will take place from October 20 to 22 in Moscow, Russia and will bring together national Olympic associations, Olympians, IOC representatives and members of the Olympic Family.
The WOF was established by the World Olympians Association in conjunction with the Russian Olympic Committee. The event will allow participants to celebrate Olympism and the achievements of Olympians and cover tenants of the WOA including Service to Olympians and Service to Society.
Nearly 100 National Olympic Associations registered for the event before the deadline closed on Monday.
IPC Finalizes Vista 2015 Program
The seventh edition of the International Paralympic Committee’s Vista conference will begin on October 7 with an opening ceremony and reception dinner in Girona, Spain.
The opening ceremony will have a panel discussion on the subject of youth and development. The panel will be made up of Spanish Paralympic swimmer Teresa Perales, Chairperson of the IPC Sports Science Committee Professor Yves Vanlandewijck and Celia Brackenridge , former Director for Youth Sport and Athlete Welfare at Brunel University, Great Britain.
The first day of the official program kicks off with a keynote lecture regarding youth athlete development from IOC medical commission member Margo Mountjoy. The keynote will provide recommendations from the IOC.
Each day of the three-day program will feature a keynote speaker covering different topics to start off the day. After each day’s keynote, attendees will break off into sessions including oral presentations, poster sessions and invited symposia.
The IPC Vista conference provides a forum for exchange on the latest information, research and expertise related to the Paralympic Movement and promotes cross-disciplinary interaction among sport scientists, athletes and coaches.
Business Stadium Design & Development Summit Features Over 60 Venues
Leaders in the sports venue construction and design industries will converge upon London to discuss stadium design projects across the world.
The event is set to showcase more than 60 stadium venues during the conference, with workshops, mini-expos and networking events.
Discussions will include the planning, design and delivery of stadiums, arenas and other sports facilities.
Venues that are set to be featured at the conference include the Helsinki Olympiastadion and proposed Los Angeles pro football stadium.
The Olympiastadion is the largest stadium project ever in Finland and was host to the 1952 Olympic Games that is set to undergo modernization.
The Business Stadium Design & Development Summit will take place from October 20 to 21.
