Pas de répit pour Tokyo 2020. A l’heure où le mouvement olympique planche avec des gestes affairés sur le calendrier et les plans de voyage de l’année 2021, une nouvelle affaire accable les organisateurs japonais. Elle s’ajoute aux derniers épisodes les plus troubles de la candidature de Tokyo pour les Jeux de 2020.

La bombe est lâchée par Reuters. L’agence britannique a eu accès aux comptes de campagne de Tokyo 2020. Elle révèle avoir découvert, écrit noir sur blanc, la trace d’un paiement de 8,2 millions de dollars versé à un ancien cadre dirigeant de l’agence de publicité et relations publiques Dentsu, Haruyuki Takahashi (photo ci-dessous).

La raison ? L’intéressé l’a reconnu lui-même : un travail de lobbying. Selon ses propres mots, Haruyuki Takahashi était chargé par le comité de candidature japonais d’influencer certains membres du CIO pour les inciter à voter pour Tokyo, alors en concurrence avec Madrid et Istanbul.
