(ATR)The Lausanne 2020 Youth Olympic Games bid is embracing Olympic Agenda 2020.

Bid organizers plan to hold ski jumping, biathlon and Nordic combined events at the Tuffes Nordic Stadium in France if Lausanne lands hosting rights.

The Franco-Swiss collaboration falls under recommendation 1.4 of Olympic Agenda 2020, which states that the IOC will permit "the organization of entire sports or disciplines outside the host city or, in exceptional cases, outside the host country notably for reasons of geography and sustainability" when bidding for an Olympic Games.

The partnership between countries would be a first in the short history of the Youth Olympic Games.

In a statement released Wednesday, Gian Gilli, the head of sport and grassroots development for the Lausanne 2020 bid committee, said it would be a shame if the bid didn't take advantage of this opportunity.

"We want to organize a Youth Olympic Games which are sustainable and financially feasible in the long-term with regards to the sports infrastructure involved," Gilli claimed.

"Less than one hour commute from Lausanne, the Tuffes stadium is one of the leading centers for Nordic sport in Europe. It would be a shame not to use such a wonderful asset."

Lausanne is in contention with Brasov, Romania to host the 2020 Youth Olympic Games.

The IOC will select a host city on July 31 during its 128th session in Kuala Lumpur.
