As the international strapline "Made For Sharing" hit the road last weekend, the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Bid Committee has unveiled a revamped, innovative new website and social media design as its digital momentum continues to grow.
Paris 2024’s brand new, interactive website was launched on the evening of 3 February, the same night that saw the "Made For Sharing" strapline beamed on to the iconic Eiffel Tower as part of a spectacular light show. Innovative technology, stunning imagery and easy navigation allows for visitors to feel the Paris 2024 experience of passion and purpose.
The bid has also unveiled a cutting edge, 30-panel skin for its Instagram account that brings to life its achievements and will continue to evolve during the year. Both the website and Instagram skin have been designed in English and French to reflect the dual purpose of the bid’s "Made For Sharing" ("Venez Partager") strapline by highlighting Paris’ vision to share the Games with the world as well as underlining its status as the globe’s most shared city on social media.
From February 1st, people around the world were invited to participate in Paris 2024’s #Sharing week on social media, where they engaged with the bid’s digital accounts and its leadership team, sharing what they loved most about Paris. During the #Sharing week and strapline launch, Paris’ social media accounts have registered impressive metrics:
· The Manifesto film reached 1.2 million views on Facebook after exactly 100 hours on-line (https://youtu.be/gftfCXc_-DQ)
· The #Paris2024 hashtag achieved 328 million impressions worldwide between 1 and 7 February
· The #MadeForSharing hashtag achieved 83 million impressions between 1 and 7 February
Paris 2024 CEO, Etienne Thobois, said:
"The growth on our social media numbers shows the immense global interest in Paris’ 2024 bid, and the ability it has to share its story with the world. Social media brings people together around the world. At Paris 2024, we invite the world to share our city and their stories of sport and Olympism.
"Like Paris 2024, young people have made sharing a way of life, with the aim of building a fair, more sustainable and more human world. This is why we want to keep on growing our social and digital engagement."
