The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Bid Committee has today welcomed the decision by the IOC to put their bid forward to the next phase of the campaign process. Paris 2024 will now work towards the submission of stage two of the bid book on Governance, Legal and Venue Funding, due on 7 October 2016.
Paris 2024 CEO, Etienne Thobois, said:
"We welcome the IOC decision to put the bid forward to the next stage of the campaign process. I’d like to thank the IOC Executive Board for providing us with this opportunity and we look forward to receiving constructive feedback from the working group on this first stage as we prepare to develop stage two of our bid.
"Following on from yesterday’s announcement of our legacy plan aligned with Agenda 2020, this is an important moment for the bid and in the evolution of our thinking. Our vision for the 2024 Games is advancing very well and it is important that we continually sense-check our plans and put into practice the valuable feedback we receive. Our central aim is to produce the best possible bid and to show what Paris and France would bring to a celebration of sport and Olympism through hosting the 2024 Games."
