(ATR) The Paris bid today added multinational energy organisation SUEZ, while Budapest 2024 is to announce a batch of partners next week.

Paris 2024 now has 13 official partners and has amassed more than €26 million ($29 million) in private sector funding.

In addition to financial support, Paris-based SUEZ will use its expertise in sustainable management to support the bid’s vision for reinvention and renewal in Paris and promises to promote sustainable practices across country.

Paris 2024’s top-tier partners also meet as a group with the bid leadership every quarter to offer their contributions to support the bid in its mission to bring the Olympics back to the capital for the first time since 1924.

Bid co-chairman Tony Estanguet said the signing of SUEZ showed the commitment to align with the IOC’s Agenda 2020 sustainability push.

"We are thrilled that we have raised more than €26 million through our partnership strategy giving us a strong foundation to build our vision and Games plan," he added.

SUEZ chief executive Jean-Louis Chaussade said the company was looking forward to working with Paris 2024 and stakeholders to create "a sustainable blueprint in major event bidding".

Budapest to Reveal Partners

The Hungarian Olympic bid tells Around the Rings it will unveil more than a dozen sponsors next week.

The announcement is timed to coincide with the next wave of Budapest’s domestic campaign aimed at growing the appeal of the Olympic bid across Hungary.

Sponsors will fill the automotive, transportation, telecom, financial industry and FMCG categories among others. Most will come from the private sector and include local subsidiaries of major European and global companies along with major Hungarian and regional firms.
