(ATR) The Greek leg of the 2018 Torch Relay is underway visiting the communities of Ioannina, Grevena, Kozani, and Kastoria.
The route is the third day of the Greek leg of the torch relay. The PyeongChang 2018 torch will spend eight days in Greece before a handover ceremony at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens on Oct. 31. The flame will then fly to Incheon International Airport in South Korea, where a national cheering squad will receive it.
Yesterday, according to the Hellenic Olympic Committee the flame started in Patras, travelled to Antirrio, and then continued to Nafpaktos, Messolonghi, Agrinio, and Atra, before finishing in Ioannia. At each stop a cauldron was lit signifying the end of each leg.
Highlights of the day included crossing the Charilaos Trikoupis in Patras, visitng the Nafpaktos harbor, and the public square in Atra near multiple bridges.
