YOG Video Conferences
This week in Lausanne, the IOC hears from the three bids for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games.
Buenos Aires, Glasgow and Medellin will each present their plans to an IOC panel via video conference.
It’s an important opportunity for both sides to ask questions of the other as the race enters its final months.
An evaluation report will then be submitted to IOC members who will elect the host city at a meeting in Lausanne on July 4.
Soccerex European Forum
Corinthians and Arsenal legend Edu will speak at the "Life after the Final Whistle" panel at the Soccerex European Forum.
Joining Edu will be Edwin van der Sar and Gaizka Mendieta.
Alexey Sorokin, CEO of Russia 2018's World Cup organizing committee, will also be speaking at the European Forum in Manchester on April 10 and 11.
In addition to the new speakers, The Royal Belgium Football Association (KBVB), Eurosport, Huggity, 20.20 and Repucom will all be presenting at workshops during the Forum.
Murofushi CAS Hearing
Koji Murofushi will have his date before the Court of Arbitration for Sport this Wednesday and Thursday.
Murofushi, who won a gold in hammer throw representing Japan at the Athens Olympics, was disqualified in his race to become an IOC Athletes' Commission member after the IOC alleged he violated campaign rules.
He was DQed along with Mu Yen Chu of Chinese Taipei, whose disqualification was upheld last month by CAS.
