(ATR) World Cup climax, IOC meetings and the Central American Games highlight the month ahead.

World Cup Closing Dates

The quarter finals begin July 6 with two matches per day through July 9. The two semi final contests are scheduled for July 10 and 11. The third-place match is July 14 with the final July 15 .

IOC Commission Meetings

The various commissions of the IOC meet in Lausanne July 16, 17 and 18.

IOC Executive Board

The ruling Executive Board convenes July 18, 19 and 20. Among the items on the agenda will be nomination of new members. All meetings of the IOC this week are scheduled for the Lausanne Palace.

Esport Attention from IOC

The much-anticipated summit at the IOC on esport is now scheduled for July 21 at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.

CONI Considers 2026 Olympic Bid

The Italian NOC will meet July 10 to decide whether to take steps towards a bid for the 2026 Winter Olympics. Turin, Milan and Cortina are the choices but much remains to be settled with the potential bidders. The IOC has yet to formally explain whether an Italian bid would be allowed for 2026. The Olympic Charter specifies that a country cannot be a candidate for the games and host theIOCsession where that election is held.

Minsk Media

With less than a year to go until the next edition of the European Games, media are about to get the first solid look at preparations in host city Minsk. Organizers in Belarus will hold a press briefing about the games July 10 and 11. Newly installed CEO Simon Clegg will be on hand to meet with the press visitors. Venue tours are included.

FINA Gala

International aquatics federation FINA will celebrate the opening of its new headquarters in Lausanne July 19.

Rugby Sevens World Cup

San Francisco is the host for World Rugby's Sevens World Cup, July 20 to 22.The three-day tournament takes place at AT&T Park.

Central American and Caribbean Games in Colombia

The 23rd Central American and Caribbean Games open July 19 in Barranquilla, Colombia. The games run until August 3. Nearly 5800 athletes from 37 nations are scheduled to participate.

Sailing World Champs for Aarhus

The 2018 Sailing World Championships will be held July 30 through August 12 in Aarhus, Denmark. The championships of international federation World Sailing are held every four years.
