MEI partners with World Academy of Sport and International Paralympic Committee

MEI partners with the Inclusion Summit which is part of the IPC Academy Campus, a venture between the International Paralympic Committee and the World Academy of Sport which will take place between 15-16 September 2016

As part of the new partnership, MEI members will benefit from discounted rates to attend this event. Until 15 July 2016, booking a place on the Inclusion Summit will be available at a special rate of EUR 900 representing a saving of 10% on the usual delegate price. This will then increase to EUR 1,000 thereafter if places are still available. VAT is not applicable.

The 2016 IPC Academy Campus will take place alongside the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro between 6-17 September 2016, giving stakeholders of major sports events the chance to learn from their peers during the event. Delivered by the IPC Academy - the IPC’s educational division created in 2009 as a partnership between the IPC and the World Academy of Sport (WAoS) – the 2016 IPC Academy Campus is a unique event-based learning initiative that will include an Observers’ Programme, Games Experience Programme and Inclusion Summit.

Confirmed speakers include IPC President Sir Philip Craven, IPC Vice President & President of the Brazil NPC Andrew Parsons, and Carla Qualtrough – Canada’s Minister of Sport and Persons with Disabilities.

Mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, Carlos Nuzman, Chairman, Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games and Kihong Kim, Vice Secretary General for Games Planning, PyeongChang 2018will also share their expertise with what will be a variety of high level delegates from across the major events industry globally.

Speaking about the benefits of attending the IPC Academy Campus, the largest event learning programme organised within the major sport events world, Xavier Gonzalez, CEO of the International Paralympic Committee, said:
