Road to Brazil 2014

A British expert tells The Independent that dengue, an infection spread by mosquitoes, could be a "significant problem" in some of Brazil's cities staging matches for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Professor Simon Hay says that growing evidence suggests the disease is "on the march" around the world.

AP writer Stephen Wade depicts Brazil as a "logistical mess" on the brink of "potentially violent anti-government protests" ahead of the 2014 World Cup.
