LOS ANGELES - Mayor Eric Garcetti and Allyson Felix, the most decorated female track-and-field Olympian in history, will lead LA 2024's delegation to the Association of National Olympic Committees [ANOC] General Assembly in Doha, Qatar. As part of the Assembly, on Tuesday LA 2024 will make its first official Candidate City presentation to the Olympic Family outlining its low-risk, high-tech and sustainable new Games for a new era that will elevate the experience of the NOCs and their teams.

The LA 2024 team features LA 2024 Chairman Casey Wasserman, CEO Gene Sykes and Vice Chair and four-time Olympic champion swimmer Janet Evans, along with the United States’ three IOC Members -- LA 2024 Chief Strategy Officer Angela Ruggiero, LA 2024 Senior Advisor for Legacy Anita DeFrantz and United States Olympic Committee Chairman Larry Probst -- and USOC CEO Scott Blackmun.

The primary focus of the LA 2024 team will be observing the ANOC General Assembly sessions and meeting with leaders from the 205 NOCs present, as the bid continues to enhance its understanding of NOC needs to deliver unprecedented pre-Games, Games-time and legacy benefits across the Olympic Movement. Tuesday's presentation will be one of three official presentations to IOC members, with the second presentation in July 2017 in Lausanne, Switzerland and the final presentation in September 2017 in Lima, Peru.

Mayor Eric Garcetti said: "The ANOC General Assembly highlights the wonderful diversity and unity of the Olympic Movement, bringing together more countries than the United Nations. LA 2024 is honored, humbled and excited to be a part of it. We arrive here following Tuesday's voter approval of a $120 billion transit upgrade and conservation legislation, which will ensure the National Olympic Committees and their athletes experience the very best of the City of Angels – a Games-ready city that is constantly imagining ‘What’s Next?’"

LA 2024 Chairman Casey Wasserman said: "LA 2024 is grateful to Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah and ANOC, as well as the International Olympic Committee and our hosts the Qatar Olympic Committee, for the opportunity to participate in this critical gathering of the NOC family. Our city’s array of existing world-class venues would make LA 2024 the most sustainable, lowest risk Games in history, and allow us to spend our time focusing not on construction deadlines but on optimizing the experience of every visitor. Ensuring every NOC – large and small – can focus their energies on preparing their athletes is a core objective for LA 2024; we look forward to sharing our ideas and hearing more from the sports leaders here in Doha."

Six-time Olympic champion and LA 2024 presenter Allyson Felix said: "I was born and raised in Los Angeles, in the same neighborhood as the LA Memorial Coliseum, and I’m incredibly proud to be representing the city I love. But I am also here to represent the voice of the athletes – not just from the US, but those from around the world whose feedback the LA 2024 Athletes’ Advisory Commission has been gathering for the last year.

"I owe so much in my development as an athlete to my National Olympic Committee, and the same is true for Olympians worldwide. The ANOC General Assembly, and the ANOC Awards in particular, are great events and give us a wonderful opportunity to learn about and honor the remarkable work of the world’s NOCs."

LA 2024 Athletes’ Advisory Commission member Allyson Felix’s six Olympic gold medals and three silver medals make her the most decorated female track-and-field athlete in Olympic history. She won relay gold in the 4x100m and 4x400m at Rio 2016, as well as silver in the 400m. Felix is also a nine-time World Champion and was part of the 4x100m relay team that smashed a 27 year-old world record en route to gold at London 2012. She is an alumnus of the University of Southern California, whose existing and upgraded venues will host key sports, including aquatics and track and field at the LA Memorial Coliseum.
