(ATR) An official announcement is expected anytime today from the IOC confirming Los Angeles as the 2028 Olympic host city.
Paris will host the 2024 Summer Olympics under this double awarding of the Games approved for the first time by the IOC earlier this month.
News organizations have been alerted by the IOC to expect a press release soon. The Los Angeles Timesis reporting that the decision has been made. The agreement to award Los Angeles the 2028 Games will still need confirmation, perhaps later this week, by the Los Angeles City Council. The IOC will confirm the double award on Sept. 13 at its 2017 Session in Lima.
