(ATR) Los Angeles 2024 bid team member Allyson Felix tells Around the Rings that hosting the Games in her hometown would introduce a new generation of young people to the Olympics.

Felix was not born when LA last hosted the Games in 1984 but she grew up learning about the Olympics and what it meant. She thinks the same thing will happen 40 years on in southern California.

"I think that there’s so much there, so much diversity, so many young people whose lives will be changed by being able to see the Games up close and personal."

Felix is a six-time Olympic champion who has won a total of nine medals over four Olympic Games. "I think I can bring the experience of an athlete. Having been in multiple Games and having seen things done really well and some things that might need improvement, I can speak to that."

Felix spoke with ATR Editor Ed Hula the day after her presentation with the rest of the bid team to the ANOC General Assembly on Tuesday.
