(ATR) China and the United States stand atop the medal table as day 3 draws to a close at the London Olympics. Each country has won 17 medals, but China gains the top spot with 9 gold medals.

Hosts Great Britain are still looking for their first gold medal. The hosts have won one silver and two bronzes so far. Great Britain won 19 gold medals in Beijing.

So far 38 nations have one at least one medal, and 18 nations have won at least one gold.
