(ATR) On April 10, the city of Lausanne is kicking off a year-long celebration of housing IOC for 100 years.

Representatives of the IOC will hold a press conference on Friday to mark the opening of an exhibition in the gallery of the Olympic Museum,

The exhibition will highlight key milestones in the history between Lausanne and the IOC, Around the Rings has learned.

2015 MastersTournament

The Augusta National Golf Club hosts this year's Master Tournament, April 9-12.

Irish golf star Rory McIlroy is the favorite to win the tournament, according to Golf.com. Two-time tournament winner, and defending champion, Bubba Watson will also return to Augusta this year.

In 2016, golf returns to the Summer Olympic Program for the first time since 1904.

International Day of Sport for Development and Peace

The United Nations and international sports world mark the secondInternational Day of Sport for Development and Peace on April 6.

This year, football stars and UN Development Program ambassadorsIker Casillas,Didier Drogba, andMarta Vieira da Silvawill join the celebration.

"The International Day of Sport for Development and Peace spreads awareness about the importance of sport as a tool to build a peaceful and better world," Vieira da Silva said in statement.

"Let's take together this opportunity to continue joining efforts to place sport in projects relating to education, health and peace."

World Synchronized Skating Championships

The International Skating Union, in cooperation with Skate Canada, is staging the 2015 World Synchronized Skating Championships in Hamilton, Canada,April 10-11.

Synchronized Skating is hoping to be added to one day be added to the Winter Olympic Program.

Last year, the ISU asked the IOC to consider adding synchronized skating and a mass start speed skating event to the program for the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Easter Holiday Closings

Countries in Europe are observing Easter Monday on April 6.

Several European sports federations and the IOC will be closed until Tuesday, April 7.
