Today in Lausanne, the IOC session unanimously approved the four proposed sports: skateboarding, climbing, surfing and breaking dance will now enter an observation period, with the final decision to be made at the IOC Executive Board meeting in December 2020.

World Skate President, Sabatino Aracu: "We are so proud that the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee and the IOC endorsed the Olympic skateboarding and we are sure that the 4-new sport-cluster will feed the urban spirit of the 2024 Games! Tokyo will be the perfect stage to show the incredible added value that skateboarding can provide: With the qualifying season #1 to Tokyo underway and the season #2 already quite defined, we will have 1 year and half to confirm their trust in us."
