(ATR) The IOC will vote on a 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games host city today.
Each of the three bids will have 45 minutes to make a presentation, and will then answer questions from IOC members.
Presentations start at 9:00 AM in Buenos Aires. The bids will present in their protocol order, selected at the start of the bidding process: Istanbul, Tokyo, then Madrid. Tokyo is scheduled to present at 10:30 with Madrid to follow at noon.
Prime ministers from Japan, Spain and Turkey will make pitches for their bid cities.
Following their presentations, each bid will hold a press conference.
After a lunch break and report from the Evaluation Commission, a vote is scheduled for 3:45 to 4:00 PM.
If no candidate receives a majority on the first ballot, a second vote will take place.
The winner will be revealed in an announcement ceremony, scheduled for 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
At 6:30, the winning city will sign the Host City Contract and hold a joint press conference with the IOC.
The Session resumes Sunday with decisions on the sports program for 2020, Wrestling, baseball/softball and squash are competing for one opening.
