The visit of Thomas Bach began with a meeting with the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
Then IOC president inspected the arenas of the II European Games, and also took part in the medal ceremony at the gymnastics competitions.
Thomas Bach was pleased with what he saw and highly appreciated the II European Games:
- I can say for sure that the organization in Minsk is at the highest level. Of course, I don’t have time to learn more about all aspects of it, but what I see now and what my colleagues from the National Olympic Committees told me, says that everything is at the highest level in Minsk.
Thomas Bach will stay in Minsk for less than a day. During this time, he will not only attend several finals of the II European Games, but also attend the closing ceremony.
