(ATR) The IOC will conduct three-day inspections of the cities bidding for the 2024 Summer Olympics next spring as Budapest, Los Angeles and Paris enter the final leg of the host city race.

The visits will follow shortly after the third candidature file is due to the IOC on Feb. 3. The third file focuses on delivery of the games, experience and venue legacy and is delivered along with a $150,000 payment to the IOC.

The members of each evaluation commission will be selected by IOC president Thomas Bach.

The IOC will begin its evaluations in Los Angeles from April 23-25 before moving on to Budapest from May 10-12 and Paris May 14-16.

Each of the bid cities will receive the results from the IOC evaluations during a debriefing in Lausanne for 2024 candidates, IOC members and summer International Federations. The meeting will take place in the Olympic capital from July 11-12.

The IOC Session where the host city will be selected is taking place in Lima, Peru from Sep. 13-17. The host of the 2024 Summer Games will be elected by IOC members on the first day of the session following presentations by each of the three cities.

Budapest, Los Angeles and Paris will continue to jockey for position in the final nine months before the IOC vote, bolstered by the beginning of the international promotion once the third candidature file is received by the IOC.

The bid committees are already hard at work coordinating with their consultants to plan out their promotional materials for the final stage of the race. The list of approved consultants for each bid city has grown steadily since its launch in April 2015, growing from 44 total consultants in February to 64 today.

However, the registry is in need of an update by the IOC. As of Dec. 15, the consultant registry still contains the list of advisers for the Rome 2024 bid which came to an end in October due to opposition from Rome Mayor Virginia Raggi.

Rome 2024 had the most consultants at 23, followed closely by Paris with 20, Los Angeles with 12 and Budapest with nine.
