(ATR) The IOC Executive Board will hold its final meeting ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympics from Saturday, July 30 to Monday, Aug. 1.

The meeting will mark the second time in the course of the week that the executives will convene to talk about the issues facing the Olympic Movement and final preparations for the Rio Games. The EB met on Sunday, July 24 to determine whether all Russian athletes should be banned from the upcoming Olympics due to the results of investigations into widespread doping systems within Russia’s national federations.

The IOC did not follow the lead of the International Athletics Federation and chose against a blanket ban of Russian athletes from the Olympics. The IOC delegated the task of allowing Russian athletes to the International Federations.

The three-day meeting will precede the 129th IOC Session in Rio de Janeiro held immediately before the start of the Rio Games on Aug. 5.

The Around the Rings team will arrive in Rio on Tuesday, July 26 to bring you the latest news and updates from the Rio Olympics.

On Friday, the relay will head toward the municipality of Petropolis, also known as the Imperial City.

Throughout the weekend the relay will have celebrations in the mountainous region of Nova Friburgo and back to the coast of Rio De Janeiro in Macae.

The relay will make its final stop at the Olympic Cauldron at the Maracana Stadium to begin the 2016 Summer Olympics on Aug. 5. The Rio Games run from Aug. 5 to Aug. 21.
