(ATR) The 5th International Olympic Committee (IOC) World Conference on Prevention of Injury and Illness in Sport will be held in Monaco beginning Mar. 16.

As part of the conference physicians and other experts will have the opportunity to discuss the latest in medical developments and share knowledge on best practices to prevent injury.Lectures, panel discussions, symposia and workshops will be available to delegates.

Director of the Amsterdam Public Health research institute Willem van Mechelen will lead the convention with a keynote address on '25 years after: The sequence of prevention revisited'.

Other speakers include Head of Scientific Activities of the IOC Medical and Scientific Department Lars Engebresten,IPC Medical Committee memberWayne Derman,Rugby Football Union chief medical officerSimon Kemp and more.

The International Federations’ Medical Commission Chairpersons Meeting and International Federations’ Anti-Doping Managers Rio Debriefing Meetingwill also be held following the conference.

SportAccord Celebrates 15th Anniversary

SportAccord will be celebrating its 15th anniversary in Aarhus, Denmark this year.

More than 1,000 organizations and 92 international sports federations are expected to attend the six day convention.

Plenary sessions held on the first two days of the conference will be featured under a program entitled ‘Innovation in Action’.

Day one of the session will start with a keynote address on organization relevancy and lead to open discussions on building sport support, sports innovations and more.

On day two, Tokyo 2020 will host a presentation on their expectations for the next summer games. Following the presentation panel discussions will be held on the latest in technology in sport including social media and virtual reality.

"We have a great event lined up for delegates at this special 15th anniversary edition of the SportAccord Convention and we’ll see a number of speakers make their debut at the Plenary Conference," SportAccord Convention Managing Director Nis Hatt said in a statement.

"Innovation is at the hub of any successful organization and this year’s conference program will enable delegates to explore and experience the innovative ways business leaders are making decisive decisions to keep their organisations ahead of the game and in the hearts and minds of fans."

Beyond the plenary sessions delegates will also have the opportunity to attend exhibition sessions featuring organizations such as the International Center for Sports Studies and Dubai Sports Council along with numerous workshops.

As part of Sport Accord 2017, the one day LawAccord conference will be held in conjunction with the event on April 6.

During LawAccord, delegates will hear the latest updates from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the World Doping Anti-Agency (WADA). CAS intends to make an important announcement concerning the "CAS Doping Division following the IOC Doping Symposium recommendations" during the conference as well.

SportsBusiness Group, SportCal, Yutang Sports, Edmonton Events, EventScotland and the Canadian Sports Tourism Alliance have all been named as partners of the event.

TrueNorth Founder Joins 'The Academy'

Communications expert Richard B. Stephenson will be hosting a master class during TSE Consulting's 2017 ‘Academy’ conference.

Other speakers are soon to be announced.

Stephenson is the founder of TrueNorth Consulting and has worked with Olympic Committees, Microsoft, Sony and more assisting in sales and strategic communication.

Stephenson believes participants of his class will leave with better communication techniques, increased message structure skills as well as personal inspiration.

"Just like athletes, leaders need to learn and train. Those who learn, focus and train the most will likely become the best. We can all be better tomorrow than we were yesterday," Stephenson said in a statement.

'The Academy' conference plans to provide insight on ways sport organizations can gain potential revenue sources, discuss new forms of promotion and ways to spread influence to others through three main themes -- Revenue, Promotion and Influence.

Participants will also have the opportunity to enjoy master classes with other key leaders in sport as well as workshops and Q&A’s.

The 2017 edition of this program will take place at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland from June 7-8.

Olympic Medalist Leads Meetings Quest Conference

Olympic gymnast and gold medalist Shannon Miller will open the 2017 Meetings Quest conference in New Jersey with a keynote address.

"Shannon’s incredible professional and personal achievements are sure to serve as an inspiration to attendees and guide them on their own path to success," Timothy Schneider, CEO of Schneider Publishing, said in a statement. His company publishes Association News, which organizes the event.

Miller intends to give participants an idea of what its like to have a ‘gold-medal mindset’ through personal experiences, her fight against ovarian cancer and how she tackles day to day challenges.

The annual conference will also host a series of briefings with industry experts including the chief operating officer of the Miss America Organization Josh Randle, president of Atticus Brand Partners Kathy Armistead Olen and more.

Meetings Quest 2017 will be held at the Borgata Hotel from Mar. 14-15.
