(ATR) The dynamic Dubi has his hand on the tiller of the 2024 Olympic bidding contest and oversees Olympic preparations.

Dubi is number 18 in the Around the Rings Golden 25 for 2016.Now in its 20th year, the survey ranks 25 individuals or events expectedto have a major influence on the Olympics in the year ahead.

After testing a new evaluation process for the 2022 Winter Olympic bid candidates, Almaty and Beijing, Dubi is now bringing ideas and innovation to the 2024 summer bidding contest. After the exit of Hamburg the pressure is on to keep the four remaining contenders – Budapest, Los Angeles, Paris and Rome – in the race.

In the troubled build-up to Rio 2016, the Olympic Games executive director is also keeping a watchful eye on Brazil’s final wave of preparations, working closely with the IOC’s Rio troubleshooter Gilbert Felli and IOC co-com chair Nawal el Moutawakel to counter the challenges and deliver solutions.

The 2016 Lillehammer Youth Olympics looms first, but Dubi is more than satisfied with the level of innovation and entertainment in its organization.

Dubi, 46, began work at the IOC in 1996, making him one of the most senior staff members. He has Olympics in his blood: his father was a member of the Swiss hockey team that competed in the 1972 Sapporo Games.
