(ATR) Christophe Dubi is on the front lines of every Olympics, from conception to ceremony.
The Executive Director of Olympic Games oversees five active organizing committees at this time, plus the dissolution of Rio 2016.
Besides the Olympic Games, he’s also involved with the process to select new host cities. The coming year brings the final phase of the campaign for 2024 and the start of the candidacies for the 2026 Winter Olympics. He oversees the work of the bid relations department which has been headed for nearly 20 years by Jacqueline Barrett.
Dubi, 46, former IOC sports director, liaises closely with his successor Kit McConnell, both examples of the more youthful turn for the IOC staff.
Top of the agenda for Dubi in 2017 is the final year of preparations for the PyeongChang Winter Olympics which include test events across the next three months.
In Tokyo he is up to his eyeballs in the myriad of questions about the venues and budget for the 2020 Games, many of which he will be involved with settling in 2017.
Dubi is also overseeing the realignment of the Youth Olympic Games that include a new schedule starting with the 2023 YOG.
