The global sports community is gearing up for an exciting week of virtual events and gatherings ahead with the IF Forum 2020, IOC IF Sustainability Session and GAISF General Assembly all approaching.

From crisis management to sustainability, our Members will be able to learn from experts and peers alike to ensure they are equipped to tackle both the challenges of today and of the future. I am looking forward to meeting all my colleagues in sport, albeit virtually, as we stand together as one team," said GAISF President Raffaele Chiulli.
The week will open with the much-anticipated IF Forum 2020 on Thursday 5 November, bringing together International Sports Federations (IFs) in a fully virtual format. The 14th edition of the annual event will explore ‘How Sport and Society Can Emerge Stronger from a Global Crisis’, and will feature experts from both the sport and wider community to discuss topics such as crisis management and staying connected in times of adversity. The following day, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) IF Sustainability Session, a collaborative workshop organised by GAISF and the IOC, will get underway. The programme of this session is designed to help members adopt an ingrained sustainability culture, from day-to-day operations to their events around the world. The theme, ‘Back to Basics to Build Back Better’, will allow the sports community to join interactive panel session on topics such as achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 and a more resilient, sustainable future. This will ensure that IFs are equipped with the latest expertise to implement sustainability as a key building block of any sport’s post-COVID-19 strategy.
To round off a busy week, GAISF will host its first-ever virtual General Assembly on Tuesday 10 November. Here, the winners of this year’s GAISF Sustainability Award, which aims to shine a spotlight on an array of outstanding sustainability projects, will be announced. In addition, the General Assembly will consider applications by the Association of Paralympic Sports Organisations and the World Transplant Games Federation to become Associate Members. The International Federation of Teqball’s application for full membership will also be considered. There will also be a live a webcast on YouTube of the General Assembly, and a link will be made available at www.gaisf.sport on the morning of the event.
Meanwhile, ASOIF, AIMS and ARISF will hold their respective virtual General Assemblies during this week, with ASOIF and AIMS scheduled for Monday 9 November and the ARISF meeting set to follow the GAISF General Assembly on Tuesday.
