(ATR) Lots of key items pack the agendas of the annual seminar and an extraordinary congress of the European Olympic Committees this week.

Belek, a Turkish seaside resort in Antalya, is hosting the 50 members of the EOC.

The Dutch bid for the 2019 European Games and preparations for the 2016 Rio Olympics dominated discussions at the 36th EOC Seminar on Friday.

Despite lacking government support and financial guarantees, the EOC is poised to approve the Netherlands as host of the 2019 European Games on Saturday during the extraordinary general assembly.

"The EOC have been working with the Dutch NOC for some months now,"Around the RingsEuropean editor Mark Bisson says.

An official close to the Dutch bid tells Bisson that the 2019 edition of the European Games could include up to 20 sports on its program.

On Friday, Rio 2016 also gave a very detailed overview of preparations for the coming Games and the challenges ahead for NOCs.

Bisson says Rio officials openly admitted that the Velodrome, set to stage Olympic track cycling in 2016, is behind schedule."They'll be battling to complete that project by March of next year when the test event is due."

Representatives from cities potentially vying to host the 2024 Summer Olympics are also in attendance at the EOC seminar and congress.

Boston, Budapest, Hamburg, Paris and Rome have all expressed interest in bidding for the 2024 Games.
