The selected candidates will be announced by the end of August.

The sixth edition of the only conference connecting cities and sport is in Tokyo from Nov. 12-14, the first time it is being held in Asia.

Those attending will include representatives from cities interested in sport as a tool for urban development, sport event organizers, and representatives from international sport, including the IOC and International Federations.

The program, which runs from Nov. 13-14, will include a discussion of how cities can re-think the use of public spaces for sport.

The conference will wrap up on Sept. 7 with a lighter schedule that invites attendees to join practical sessions regarding athlete health, technology and classification.

Around 300 of the world’s leading sports scientists, sport medicine practitioners, classifiers, coaches, athletes and sport administrators are expected to attend the conference.

New Triathlon Conference to Combine Events

USA Triathlon and Triathlon Business International (TBI) announce Endurance Exchange, an annual industry-wide conference that combines multiple pre-existing events.

Endurance Exchange will be in Tempe, Arizona from January 23-25, 2020. It replaces the TBI Annual Conference, which was initially scheduled for the same time and place. Endurance Exchange also will include two former events hosted by the USA Triathlon -- the USA Triathlon Race Director Summit and the Art and Science of Triathlon International Coaching Symposium.

"At USA Triathlon we heard from our constituents that it was challenging to manage several conferences on the calendar each year, and we realized it was time to think bigger-picture,"USA Triathlon CEORocky Harris said in a statement.

"More importantly, we recognize the value in coming together with TBI to create a collaborative environment for all industry members — enabling coaches, retailers, corporations, race directors, clubs, officials and athletes to learn from each other and share best practices."

Registration is open at enduranceexchange.com, and early bird pricing is available now for $350 per person. A complete schedule, speaker line-up and additional event details will be announced in the coming months.
